Transelec awarded Dessau the contract for conceptual and advanced basic engineering of the transmission system that connected the Río Cuervo, Río Blanco and Lago Cóndor hydroelectric power plants to the SIC, with a combined generation capacity of 1050 MW, through 715 km of a 500 kV direct current transmission system (HVDC) and a 220 kV alternating current collector (HVAC). The company also provided support services for electrical, land and maritime concessions, and for the environmental studies stage; preparation of construction budgets, contracting and supervision of land, topography and soil studies; and documentation for bids.
Campanario Thermoelectric Power Plant

Counterpart engineering and technical inspection services were provided for the construction of a 154 kV single-circuit line for the electrical connection to the Central Interconnected System (SIC, from Spanish Sistema Interconectado Central), an exit yard and an arrival yard to the Charrúa Substation, the expansion power plant yard, through an EPC contract with Siemens; the expansion of the Campanario Thermal Power Plant, an EPC with Errázuriz and Associates; in-factory inspection services, both nationally and abroad; and support in commissioning.

Dessau was in charge of consulting services for the installation of the plant’s two generating units. The service consisted of managing, scheduling, monitoring and controlling the development of the engineering project; basic and detailed electrical and mechanical engineering for the complementary Balance of Plant (BOP) systems and equipment not included in General Electric’s scope of supply; and engineering consulting services during the construction, assembly, testing and commissioning periods.
